University of Rochester honors Rochester Crew at 2009 Meliora Weekend
If you were looking for a reason to return to the River Campus and see your old Rochester Crew friends and family, this is the year!
The University will be sponsoring a cocktail reception for all Rochester Crew alumni, student-athletes, parents and friends on-campus Saturday, October 10th from 5-8pm. Athletic Director George Van Der Zwag, Dean of the Faculty of the Arts, Sciences and Engineering Peter Lennie, and long-time Rochester Crew supporter George Angle are all scheduled to speak at this celebration of Rochester Crew. This event is free to all alumni, student-athletes, parents and friends of Rochester Crew. Drinks and hors d'ourves will be provided by the University. Don't miss this opportunity to celebrate Rochester Crew's realignment under the Athletic Department, an event 27 years in the making!

Women's Rowing is Officially a Varsity Sport!

Many thanks to all the alumni, athletes, parents and friends that made this possible. Mark your calendars for the Celebration of Rochester Crew at the 2009 Meliora Weekend on October 10th and 11th, sponsored by the University and the Friends of UR Crew.

Dad Vail Bronze!
The Rochester Crew Women's Varsity Eight took 3rd place in the Division II/III Grand Final at the 2009 Dad Vail Regatta this past weekend!!
This marks the first time a Rochester boat has medalled at Dad Vail since 1991. The Rochester MV8+ also made it to the MV8+ Grand Final for the first time in several years.

The previous weekend at New York State Championships the WV8+ also took Bronze, and the MV8+, who had been favorites, won the Petite Final after a disappointing Heat race. The WN8+ also took Silver in their event.

The team's final race is ACRA Championships in Oak Ridge, Tennessee in two weeks.
